Thanksgiving Birthday

Thanksgiving is always a special time for me. Eight years ago, just in time for Thanksgiving dinner my daughter entered the world. It has brought such a special meaning to Thanksgiving for our family. It's hard to believe she has grown so fast!!
What a special gift for her....She was selected as Kid of the Week over at Kids Can Scrap!!

Got My Crop On @ Noel Mignon!

So Noel Mignon had an online Harvest crop this week. Mad fun! I really got my crop on. OK more like I got my gab on. Lot's of challenges AND generous prizes. Those girls know how to host a crop! Greta hosted a crazy scavenger hunt and once you collected everything?!? She posted the real challenge. Make a page with all the crap you just collected.I couldn't use a single thing from my stash! Evil, evil girl that Greta! Black on black. What a lovely page. NOT. Check it out. I even won a prize for this one. Gotta fess up though. I only won cuz I was the only that played! bwahahaha

Jana hosted a sketch challenge and provided a really great sketch. I finally used my jack o lantern photo's from last year. Since you all know I was defunct in the Halloween department this year.

They even had make and takes. Greta provided directions for the cutest little strip pumpkin. Both Kelsey and I made one! Very cute and a nice project to make with the kiddos. Going to scale it down and try making ornaments. Kelsey did a great job with hers. She even hand stamped her paper. She's now also in awe of Greta. As we made the pumpkins she said WOW, Greta has a great mind!

Kelsey also made her own "Me" page to post over at Kids Can Scrap. This kid is getting more done than me!

Over at Sweet Pea Scraps. Jenn Stevens issued a reading challenge. Her page is really awesome! I didn't ask her permission to post it so your gonna have to head over to Sweet Peas to check hers out. Plus, I'm not really wanting to post my work next to hers.

Right now, gotta run. Work is calling. I'll have to come back later and post some links to all the cool sites I stalked this past week.

Bad Mom, Bad Blogger, Bad, Bad, Bad..

Usually October is one of my most favorite months. This year it just flew by!! I spent most of it sick. Nothing tragic...just one of those annoying colds that goes away and comes back two days later. I'm feeling better now though. I can tell by my daughters behavior that she's coming down with something too. Arghhhh!! Well enough whining. It's been a busy month. My daughter had her first official swim meet and this may not be be politically mom correct but Im here to tell you, she kicked ass!! So proud of her. Her first meet and she came home with two second place ribbons and a first place. Woot Woot!! She did a 25 yard backstroke in 23.?? seconds. Her coach was really excited and almost fell in the pool, I guess this is a great time for a 7 year old. Swimming is all new to us. Neither hubby or I were ever on a team. We didn't even have a clue that meets took like 5 hrs. Whew, at least they are not every week.

Halloween came and went without a picture. Yeah that's right. Can you believe I took no pictures of Halloween!! That was the worse week of my cold and I never put my battery in the charger. What a horrible mother I am. Even worse, I know I will eventually make her put her costume back on and pretend it's Halloween. We did at least have a great time. Every year we have family and friends over. I make a big pot of chili and hot mulled cider (OK, I'll come clean this yr we had root beer, I was not mulling any cider!) my friend Karen made pumpkin cake, yummy...I'm hoping some of her pictures came out.

November 5th marked my fifth year of being smoke free!! Woot Woot. I've never felt worse in my life. In the last 5 years I've had my thyroid removed, you know because being smoke free didn't make me fat enough!! I was hospitalized for food poisoning. Yes I blame this on no smoking. I wouldn't have eaten so much if I still smoked. Oh and don't forget the gall bladder, had to have that yanked too. Eeek!! All kidding aside though, it was a really momentous occasion for me. I never thought I would be able to quit. My daughter and I celebrated at Red Lobster and she sang Happy Anniversary no cigarette day 9 I don't know where she come up with this stuff) to me. It was really funny though. Hubby had to work late and couldn't make. I missed him at first but it was nice to go to dinner just her and I. I'm going to make a point to do that more often.

Yesterday I went to a crop at my LSS and I finally made my project for InkaDink. It's a Thanksgiving mini album that I made for my Mom. I thought she could have all her guests write a little something in it. It will hold some wallet size photo's too.

I was also tagged by my fellow InkaDink DT friend Helen, http://h-scrapbookingmyway.blogspot.com/ . I've never been tagged before, so thanks Helen. I'm gonna work on that today. Ok, here goes.
