Scrapbooking & Crafting Friends

If you haven't been to Scrapbooking & Crafting Friends yet, check it out here.Jennifer has started an awesome, awesome site! Friendly people. A ton of different groups to choose from and a slew of challenges. Oh and guess who is on a couple of the DT's? Yup, that's me wearing that paper crown! The paper crown you ask? Well,I wasn't going to use the picture. Buttttt (and I know you shouldn't start a sentence with but) Butttt my daughter made the crown and took the pic. I also couldn't expain to her (without hurting her feelings) why I didn't want to use it. Pimples and all! lol Oh well at least I made a DT. WooHoo!!
For our first assignments Jennifer went with an anything goes Open House approach so here is my page. I used some yummy goodies out of my Noel Mignon Kit. The Collage Press paper, the old playing card and buttons are all from the kit.

I got some cards done this weekend as well. I used a Basic Grey card kit and I'm really lovin Lime Rickey. A line of BG that I thought I didn't need and now want!! Speaking of BG I started a Basic Grey Group over at SCF. It's for all of us BG Addicts. For now it's just a group to chat and post BG projects but eventually I would like to host some challenges with prizes of course!

Oh and one more little card because I just had to try out my new stamp set. Im really into birds right now.

Middletown Arts Celebration

A couple of weeks ago my daughter came home with an invitation to the Middletown Arts Celebration. Along with the invitation came a letter addressed to my daughter to inform her that a piece of her art would be show cased it also congratulated her for all her hard work and dedication to her art. Hellloooo how did crafty Mom not know that her daughter was an artist? She has her own scrap desk and a ton of supplies. We play with paper, we color together but I had no idea that the girl could draw!! Check out her self portrait. Anyone know whose style she copied?

I was really amazed by the quality of this Art Celebration. I'm feeling bad that I didn't take more pictures. The HS work was AMAZING with multiple award winners. I don't remember there being that many talented people when I went to HS? Looking at all that artwork really inspired me. Damn I wish I could draw. I did manage a couple of pages for The Scraproom Sketch Class. Here is sketch number one.

Then I skipped to number four. I had all these pic's from Mother's Day and thought this 2 page sketch was perfect for them. I hope I don't get an F for skipping!

ChoooChooo

All aboard for a Happy Mother's Day! I am Photo heavy today. I decided for Mother's Day this year I wanted to go to Roscoe, NY. Better known as Trout Town USA. It's a small town an hour north from our house and you guessed it, it's a fishing town. That's not why I wanted to go though. They have a Diner with the best French Toast I've ever had! Deep fried!! and I loved every calorie of it!! There goes the 20 lbs I've lost. There is also a small Railroad Museum where we had a great time goofing around. I can't wait to scrap the pic of my daughter on the "runaway train"!

To finish the day off we had my Mother and My MIL for a barbecue. We had a great day playing volley ball and going through pictures. It was one of those rare perfect days. I am thankful for both my Mom and my MIL.

Hope you all had a fabulous Mother's Day!!!!

She's Back

Sheeeeee's back! Said in my best creepy old lady voice. Yup, my princess has returned. She's tired, she's cranky, she doesn't know what she wants to eat, she doesn't want to clean her room, she doesn't want to go to school...can't say that I blame her. I would be in Florida right now if I could.
She pulled it together though and we ended up going to Applebee's (her choice) for a welcome home dinner. We went early and our meal was actually delicious. Or maybe it tasted especially good because we skipped lunch. We're winding down now and I have a feeling that bed time is going to be another head spinner. I know I always have a hard time going back to work after a vacation so I'm going to go easy on her. I'm still daydreaming about Spring Break!
I thought I would get a ton of scrapping done while she was away but only ended up with a couple of more pages. Although I didn't know how appropriate this one would be! lol

Over at The Scraproom there is a free sketch class going on. Susan has some really cool stuff planned so if you are into sketches/challenges. Be sure to check it out. There will be a total of 10 sketches. No pressure to do them all, but they are offering prizes!
